Who came up with the idea of electric Christmas tree lights? Explained

The initial recorded instance of an electrically lit Christmas tree is credited to Edward H. Johnson, an associate and collaborator of Thomas Edison. During his tenure as Vice-President of the Edison Electric Light Company in 1882, Johnson commissioned custom Christmas tree bulbs. He personally wired 80 red, white, and blue light bulbs, which he then wrapped around his Christmas tree showcased at his residence in New York City. By 1903, General Electric introduced ready-made kits of interconnected Christmas lights. Edward H. Johnson earned the endearing title of the Father of Electric Christmas Tree Lights for his pioneering contribution.
