World’s most powerful light beam, the “Sky Beam,” emanates from top of what Las Vegas hotel?

The powerful “Sky Beam” that emanates from the top of the pyramid is a signature feature of the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas.

Recognized as the most powerful man-made light beam in the world, the Sky Beam is created by focusing the light from 39 xenon lamps. Its immense brightness is visible to aircraft as far as 275 miles away and has even been used as a navigation tool by pilots. Interestingly, the light also creates its own unique ecosystem, attracting a multitude of insects, which in turn draws in bats and other nocturnal animals. The beam serves as a tribute to ancient Egyptian beliefs, which held that souls would travel to the heavens in a beam of light.
