What retailer was originally named Sound of Music?

The retailer originally known as Sound of Music is now the major electronics chain, Best Buy.

The company was founded in 1966 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and for nearly two decades, its focus was on selling audio equipment. The name change to Best Buy was a direct result of a pivotal event in the company’s history. In 1981, a tornado severely damaged a flagship store in Roseville, Minnesota. In response, the company held a “Tornado Sale” to sell damaged and excess stock, advertising the event with the promise of “best buys.”
