Explanation:
[STC0017053]. Linda Ronstadt is responsible for the formation of one of the bands with the highest number of record sales of all time, the Eagles. She recruited Don Henley and Glenn Frey to play in her band just before they created the Eagles, so they could get to know each other better. Ronstadt first became acquainted with Henley after the latter sent her some of the songs he’d composed; however, she decided against recording his work and instead hired him as a drummer for her band. She was acquainted with Frey through a friend in common, and when Henley and Frey went on tour with Henley’s band, they became roommates. They became fast friends thanks to their shared talent for singing and songwriting, and before long they were spending hours in Linda Ronstadt’s living room going over their own songs that they had written. The first song that Don Henley and Glenn Frey collaborated on was the title tune to their second studio album, which was released in 1973 and titled “Desperado.” In the same year, Ronstadt released her now-famous rendition of the song as part of the album ‘Don’t Cry Now,’ which went on to become her first album to achieve commercial success. And despite the fact that “Desperado” is now one of the Eagles’ most well-known songs, it was never issued as a single by the band, and it didn’t get any attention until Linda Ronstadt recorded her version of it.
